Chickweed, is an annual and perennial flowering plant in the family Caryophyllaceae. It is native to Eurasia and naturalized throughout the world. This species is used as a cooling herbal remedy, and grown as a vegetable crop and ground cover for both human and poultry consumption. The plant germinates in autumn or late winter, then forms large mats of foliage.

It grows in damp, grassy places and bushes along roads, in fields, inhabited and deserted places up to 1500 m above sea level.

Use the overhead part that is collected during flowering and dry in a cool place or in a tumble dryer up to 40 ° C.

Contains saponins, carotene, vitamins C and E. Many of the ingredients are of an unexplained chemical nature.
