Ginkgo Biloba is the oldest known tree species – its age is estimated at over 200 million years. This tree is the last representative of a whole class of seedless plants that have existed since the time of the dinosaurs. According to models from northeastern China, modern ginkgo has very few differences with that of the Jurassic period. During the Pliocene (5.3-1.8 million years ago), the ginkgo population sharply declined and remained in only a small area of central China.
Ginkgo is a deciduous tree, up to 20-35 m in height, and up to 2500 years old. The leaves are vesicular, 5-15 cm long. The seed is 1.5-2 cm long, in a 2-3cm-thick flesh-like sheath, which contains butyric acid, which adds the odorous odor of the fruit.

Application: as an aid in varicose veins, joint problems, high cholesterol, loss of concentration, etc.
Method of preparation: 1 tablespoon of the herb is boiled for 20 minutes in 500 ml of hot water. The filtered infusion is drunk 3 times a day before a meal.
Ginkgo may be dangerous in combination with anticoagulants such as aspirin and MAOIs, in some individuals with impaired circulating blood flow (eg enlarged veins), and in pregnant women.
